you say you want an evolution

veggie-evosmall1What if eating chips was GOOD for you? How cool would that be? Crunchy, tasty, and healthy – that would definitely be an evolution in snack foods. And that is just what our client had in mind when she developed Veggie Evolution!
From her kitchen in Ketchum, Idaho, Sheila Plowman created a line of organic, healthy, tasty and nutritious snack chips made with organic carrots, onions, kale, beets and a variety of other garden favorites. These are “gently air-crisped” (dehydrated) slices of veggies so not only can you tell exactly what you’re eating, but they have retained their nutrients and unique flavors.
In order to compete on shelf in the grocery store and be able to expand her distribution outside the local markets, the branding and packaging had to be redesigned – starting from scratch. We explored a variety of concepts for this unique product, and chose a design that was fun, whimsical, unique to the category and reflected the personal “roots” of the company and its product development.

Tom Foerstel

Founder & President

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.

He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.

An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.

One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
