While adults and children alike are preparing their costumes and collecting candy, take a look at these impressive pumpkin carvings from the annual Great Jack o’Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt manor in New York. The Halloween happening features more than 5,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack o’ lanterns in a elaborate walk-through experience. The designs, which have been crafted by teams of professional artists, use multiple stacked pumpkins in the creation of a single piece so that they become towering installations scattered throughout the landscape. massive dinosaurs, including a tree-suspended pterodactyl and a brontosaurus in a Jurassic Park area, slithering snakes, giant spiders, a cavernous tunnel, and even a working doomsday grandfather clock made entirely from pumpkin parts are some of this year’s featured highlights. The Great Jack o’Lantern Blaze runs will run for 25 nights through November 11th, 2013. Happy Halloween!
