Why Are Setting Goals Important?

If you want your business to be as successful as possible, it is important to set measurable goals. One crucial element that goes with goal setting is to hold yourself and your team accountable. These goals help ensure that your business is moving in the right direction.

Step 1: Get Clear on the Goals You Want to Achieve

While setting goals, you must begin with establishing your top priorities when creating your broad corporate goals for the year.

Step 2: Be as Specific as Possible

You have a higher probability of reaching your goals if you begin by spending time explaining and envisioning them as precisely as possible. Defining the progress you want to reach at each stage in the process is a great way to begin creating the roadmap of your goals.

Step 3: Commit to Your Goals

Once you have created your goals, you must commit fully to them. Then, do whatever you can to stay inspired by them throughout the process.

Step 4: Set up Metrics to Measure Your Progress

Find a system that works well for you to track the progress you are making towards your goals. By keeping track of metrics consistently, you will be able to see what exactly is working and what is not.

Step 5: Learn to Appreciate Your Achievements

Take time to celebrate the achievements you make along the way. Acknowledge the time and energy you and your team spent to reach your goals.

Founder & President

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.

He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.

An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.

One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
