Undoubtedly, web design will continue to be essential in the future. Many speculate that web design will only continue to be more and more playful in the upcoming years.
Practical websites are few and far between. Now, many websites are transitioning to become art masterpieces and highly interactive. However, the current creative techniques are only the beginning of what is to come.
Gradients have been around for a long time but now are proving to be the most vibrant web design trend. Gradients make images appear deeper than they are and make the overall web design more interactive and creative.
It is essential to use typography as more than just a writing tool. It can be used to convey messages to inspire feelings within the viewer emotionally.
Animation is another tool that can be used to move the viewers across the page. Animations can be seen in illustrations, page transitions, and UI elements. These are great elements to include on websites because they intrigue viewers without overwhelming them.
Claymorphism is a design trend that uses illustrations of 3D hands or humans to make the website more interactive.
Creating experiences for viewers that are tailored to their lifestyle and personalities is one way to ensure they are engaging with your content. Your website needs to inspire your audience to take action.
Creating websites with borders and simple layouts has become a standout trend in 2022. Viewers like to see websites that are organized and well laid out.
The only purpose hero images have is to make a strong statement. Therefore, it is critical that the image you choose as the hero stands out and makes a strong first impression.
Scrolling is only one piece of the website experience. The ultimate goal is for your audience to engage with your content. One way to increase engagement is by displaying passive animations that require the visitor to click or drag.
Scrolling provides interactive feedback that lets you better understand what stands out to your audience on your website. Implementing new and creative ways to scroll is a great way to engage your viewers and keep them on your website for longer.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60’s, Tom developed a strong desire to create positive change for people and planet.
He went on to pursue his passion for art and design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and worked for design firms in Southern California before moving to Boise, Idaho in the early 80’s. Foerstel Design opened its doors in 1985. Since its inception, the firm has cultivated a bold, happy, forward-looking team focussed on creating distinct and effective work on behalf of their clients.
An integral part of Tom’s philosophy is giving back to the community in which he lives — a company cornerstone that drives Foerstel’s long history of providing pro-bono services to local non-profit humanitarian and arts programs.
One of Tom’s proudest personal achievements is his ability to say Supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious backwards.
