They say of the spring weather in Idaho, “if you don’t like it, wait 5 minutes”. I can verify this is true as days here currently can be comprised of rain, snow, sun, sleet, wind–you name it. Those brief moments of sun get me excited about gardening so when I saw blueberry plants at the nursery the other day, I couldn’t resist. They reminded me of how great it was picking (and eating) them fresh from the field when I visited my client, Stahlbush Island Farms, last fall. I have a feeling it’s going to be awhile before I’m picking blueberries from the plants that are currently little more than twigs. Until then, I’ll pick up a bag of Stahlbush’s Blueberries–now in their newly designed biodegradable bag–which will go into my compost bin when I’m done. So not only did Stahlbush inspire the blueberry plants in my garden, but they’re helping me grow them too.
